People residing in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions can benefit from the Program for Treatment of Patients Suffering from Drug Addiction.
Scope of the Program:
Treatment of patients suffering from drug addiction includes inpatient detoxification and primary rehabilitation, as well as substitution therapy. The Program also provides inpatient services for alcohol-related mental and behavioral disorders, considering geographic availability.
Engagement in the Program and documents to be submitted:
To engage in the Program a person residing in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions should:
- Possess a personal identification number granted as result of registration; or
- Possess a neutral ID (SNID) or neutral travel document (SNTD); or
- Possess an ID Card of Georgian citizen.

Program Funding:
In the frames of the Inpatient Detoxification and Primary Rehabilitation Component, medical services for drug addict patients are fully funded.
Substitution therapy and delivery of substitution drugs, as well as provision of drugs to beneficiaries, is free of charge (without co-payment).
In the frames of inpatient services for mental and behavioral disorders caused by the misuse of alcohol, the co-payment to be paid by the beneficiary amounts to 10% of the actual cost.
