HEPATITIS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Beneficiaries:

 

People residing in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions can benefit from the Hepatitis Management Program free of charge. 

 

The Program provides for C and B Hepatitis management:

 

  • Conducting diagnostic examination
  • Treatment of C and B Hepatitis (providing medication)
  • Monitoring the treatment process

 

Engagement in the Program and documents to be submitted:

 

To engage in the Program, a person residing in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions should:

 

  • Possess a personal identification number granted as result of registration; or
  • Possess a neutral ID (SNID) or neutral travel document (SNTD); or
  • Possess an ID Card of Georgian citizen.

Program Funding:

 

The entire course of treatment, from diagnosis to the treatment process (medications, monitoring examinations), is completely free.

 

All patients engaged in the Program will receive medication of new generation for free, which is of high efficiency and entails minimum side effects.

 

Additional Information:

 

The C Hepatitis Elimination Program was launched on April 21, 2015. The project is implemented by the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories of Georgia, Labor, Health and Social Protection, with the support of the Center for Disease Control of the United States of America and the drug manufacturing company Gilead.

 

From April 2024, the B Hepatitis Management component was added to the Hepatitis Management Program.
